One of the largest companies in iGaming is now taking the gigantic step into becoming a provider of casino software. Gaming Innovation Group, better known as GiG, has been around for a few years now and is behind some of your favorite online casinos. We’re talking mega-casinos like Guts, Rizk, Thrills, Kaboo, Highroller Casino and more. Not to mention the tens of casinos that use the company’s services to set-up their own online casinos. Now, GiG is launching GiG Games – and it’s already been amped up to be the provider of the future.

GiG Games isn’t exactly up and running yet, but rumors of its products are already starting to circulate. The below is information collected from several sources, including the company’s own site, on what players can expect from GiG Games over the upcoming year. Spoiler alert: it’s pretty great.

The Story Behind GiG Games

The story behind GiG Games

GiG Games - Thrills

GiG Games will be based in the company’s Marbella offices, in Spain. From here, the provider will work to develop casino games to be sold to operators on a revenue share basis. This includes both third party operators, and the company’s own branded operators. It’s been in operation since August 2017, but will only come into full fruition sometime this year. Right now, the games are still in the development phase.

Predictably, the games will initially be exclusive to GiG owned casino brands. What are termed as Tier1 operators. This means that the casinos we mentioned in the introduction, i.e. casinos like Guts, Thrills and Highroller, will probably have first dibs on any GiG products.

Mathias Larsson, the MD of GiG Games, commented that:

“To test new games on some of our GiG owned casino brands first obviously makes a lot of sense. With GiG’s standard of quality known across the industry we will go for the Tier1 operators once all is tested and quality assured.”

GiG Games - RizkThis does make a lot of sense since, as Larsson mentions, GiG is increasingly becoming associated with standards of quality within the industry. Players can look forward to accessing GiG Games products from the company’s branded casinos first.

Somewhere down the line, an aggregator solution for operators with their own platform will be launched. This type of solution will allow for a smooth and efficient integration with GiG’s third party solutions and much developed eco-system.

So, who exactly is GiG and where did it start from?

GiG Games - Guts

It finds its origins back in 2008, in the form of Donkr – an online poker site. Fast-forward five years, and the company had launched their first casino – Guts. From that point on it was a roller-coaster ride of success up to this point, where GiG now has five distinct business areas: operators (GiG’s consumer brands), lead generation (GiG Media), game service providers (GiG Games), sports (BettingCloud) and platform provider (iGamingCloud) as cited by the company itself.

With over 600 employees and growing, GiG is one of the largest iGaming companies around. Heck, it even has offices across 6 different countries. It operates primarily out of Malta, but it’s also spread over Marbella, Gibraltar, Oslo, Kristiansand and Copenhagen. Talk about multi-culturalism.

Together, these different areas combine to create a completely self-sufficient gaming company. Seriously, these guys keep it all in-house and they can pretty much rule the world if they wanted to. GiG Games is definitely going to push them into the future by giving the company its own gaming products to use not only in its own brands, but also with operator brands.

Games

Currently, GiG Games has 3 games under development which started production in August. They’re projected to be ready for launch in the third quarter of 2018, meaning somewhere after August of next year.

From that point on, the process will seriously speed up and GiG Games is planning to have a total of 6 games done by end of the year. This is a considerable leap, and shows that currently the developers are going through a learning process more than anything. Once things pick up, we’re sure more and more games will start to come our way. And we honestly can’t wait to see what they’re like (and to test them out first-hand with a couple of rounds).

The three games currently under production are a blackjack game, a roulette game and a slot game. This neatly hits the main areas that players look for when signing up for a casino for the first time, and are looking for games; normally, table games and slot games. Blackjack and roulette are by far the two most popular table games of all time – so GiG Games will have all those bases covered.

The slot game development is especially exciting, because while a company can only develop so many table games – the potential for slots is infinite. Given how creative GiG is with its casinos (have you seen the theme of Rizk, Thrills and Kaboo? Now that’s some innovation), we’re confident this will translate to some amazing quality slot games. Exciting stuff!

In fact, we’re betting that the other three games predicted to be launched by the end of 2018 will be slot games. But who knows? We’ll keep you updated with all the latest info and news released about GiG Games.

What to Expect from GiG Games

All in all, you can expect some pretty great things from GiG Games. It might start off to a bumpy ride, at least until the company gets the hang of things and fixes up any issues, but then we think it’ll be smooth sailing from there on out.

For sure, one thing we’ve learned about this company over the years of reviewing its casinos – it only gets better and better. From strength to strength, GiG has never quit on pushing limits and boundaries. We don’t know how it’s going to do with casino games, but we’d bet anything it’s going to be amazing. After all, this is the same company that launched Highroller Casino – a casino which allows you to loot other players. Talk about pushing ordinary.
