Top online casinos such as Guts Casino have recently announced that NetEnt games are no longer available for play to Canadian players. According to online casinos the notification came from the software provider.

News updates posted on the 4th of June reported that NetEnt have pulled out from three online casino brands, which includes Guts Casino, Betspin Casino and Rizk Casino, all owned by Malta-based companies. NetEnt is not the only company to leave Canada, since in May William Hill also decided to close its operations and two years ago Ladbrokes withdrew from the Canadian market. Since 2015 Canadian players have been blocked by Betfair Casino and Paddy Power Casino left already in 2011.

Canadian players were notified of the new restriction via an email that stated the online casino’s regret that all NetEnt games would no longer be available to players residing in Canada. Guts Casino informed players by the 25th of May 2016 and promised that their exceptional services will still include the same casino offerings including promotions, rewards and a huge variety of games from providers such as BetSoft, NYX Gaming, Microgaming, Quickspin, Evolution Gaming and Play ‘n Go.

Guts Casino created a brand new welcome package exclusively for Canadian players. New players from Canada receive ten free spins on Piggy Riches video slot upon registering and no deposit is needed. The welcome package that previously included 100 free spins on Starburst video slot, as part of the $300 welcome bonus will soon be replaced with spins on an alternative video slot from one of the remaining suppliers.

This comes as a huge disappointment to Canadian online players as their most enjoyed games came from the world-renowned gaming supplier. While many other online casinos still allow players from Canada access to NetEnt games, there are many questions around the sudden restrictions coming from both Rizk and Guts Casinos. The failure for any announcement from NetEnt also adds to the list of unanswered questions and players feel that an official announcement should have been made.
