Hook's Heroes Theme & Background

The visuals for Hook’s Heroes probably do not match the image you had in mind, as unlike the characters in the classic tale of Peter Pan, the pirates seem somewhat goofy and funny-looking, almost like caricatures. In fact, the whole design is pretty cartoon-like, including the background which looks like the setting of a stage with various props such as the clouds which are very clearly seen as being suspended in the air with ropes. Moreover, on the right-hand side of the screen, a ship that looks like its made from cardboard, is being up and above the “waves”.

All of these features give the game a much lighter tone than that which we would normally associate with pirates. And if these weren’t testament enough, the background music tops it all as it is a jaunty Caribbean tune. All in all, we’ve found the theme and setting of the game very interesting and fun, and we quite like it.
