Play’n GO is following up one high volatility slot, Hugo 2, with another high volatility slot. In fact, on a scale of 10, the Sea Hunter slot ranks a full 10/10 in terms of variance. Now that’s some serious high payout stake. And we’re loving it. It’s a nautical themed slot, with 3 reels and 5 paylines. It has a maximum win of 92,000 coins and is primarily centered on four types of ‘cannon’ features. They have unique functions, some award re-spins and multipliers. Sea Hunter has a total RTP of 96.63%, which is above the standard amount for most slots. Take a dive into the deep end, and give this video slot a go. Extremely high volatility of this slot also means that big wins are more frequent and more substantial than in other video slots
The four different types of Cannon features provide great opportunities for big wins and free re-spins
The RTP of this slot is slightly above average, which still goes a long way in video slots
Hit frequency of the Cannon features other than the Growth Gun is pretty low in comparison
The maximum exposure of 92,000 coins actually isn’t that high for a slot so volatile, and might be unsatisfying for some players
Other than the four Cannon features, Sea Hunter has no other special features – including free spins

Theme & Background
Just from the title alone, you can automatically tell that this is a nautical-themed slot. This isn’t the only Play’n GO sea slot, just a few months ago we had Mermaid’s Diamond – another great slot. Sea Hunter, however, is more on the steam-punk side of the nautical theme. Intricate, rusty looking gears and cannons remind us a lot of the Bioshock franchise.
Anyway, the ‘hunter’ part comes in because the slot is fixed up with four different types of cannons. These are the ‘special features’ of the slot. The aim of the game is to land as many consecutive wins as you can, so that you load up the cannons and they’ll shoot at different marine creatures. The marine creatures, like fish, octopuses, and manta rays, are the symbols of Sea Hunter. It’s a little sad to think of it as though you’re hunting down sea creatures – but just think of the payouts.
All in all, this a well designed slot with some great graphics. Compared to some other Play’n GO filler slots, it’s definitely on the higher end of things. It definitely provides an entertaining time for those who want a break.
The first thing that needs to be made clear about this slot is that it’s all about the Cannons. There are two cannons, one fixed to the either side of the slot game grid. These cannons are pointed towards the reels, poised and aimed ready to go.
In order to activate the cannons, players need to achieve consecutive wins when spinning. The cannons have a meter in-built into them, so that you can see how far they’re charged. When the meter reaches the required level, it’ll activate a different power-up of the cannons which will be active during the following spin. When a non-winning spin takes place, the meters on the cannons are reset to zero. You’ll have to start from scratch in order to charge up the cannons again.
In total, there are four different cannon power-ups: Growth Gun, Sticky Shot, Wild Warhead and Multiply Mortar.
Explore Sea Hunter Symbols
The Growth Gun is the easiest cannon to trigger, because all it needs are 2 consecutive wins. Once triggered, on the following spin, the cannons will fire at 1 random type of symbol. This symbol and all the other corresponding symbols on the reels will be upgraded to the next highest paying symbol according to the paytable.
The Wild symbol cannot be chosen or upgraded during the Growth Gun power-up.
To activate the Sticky Shot, you need 4 consecutive wins. Once triggered, the cannons will once again shoot at 1 random symbol on the reels. That symbol and all matching symbols (including Wilds this time) will remain sticky for the following spin. Also, Sticky Shot automatically awards the player one free re-spin. It’s during the re-spin that the symbols remain sticky.
The meter will not reset on a losing re-spins, but if there is a win on the re-spin, another re-spin is triggered. And so on and so forth.
Wild Warhead is activated when the player lands 5 consecutive wins on the reels. Once activated, on the next spin, between 1 – 3 Wild symbols are randomly placed on different reel positions. Obviously, this greatly increases the player’s chances of landing a big win. Wild symbols are, according to the paytable, the highest paying symbol in the game after all.
The Multiply Mortar is the most difficult cannon to trigger, in that it needs 6 consecutive wins to be activated. But it’s with good reason. Once Multiply Mortar is active, it’ll grant the player 1 free Win Spin. During a Win Spin, a win is guaranteed. That’s right – you will win 100% of the time on a Win Spin.
On top of that, the cannons will then shoot at the reels to multiply the win by a random amount. The multiplier could go all the way up to an amazing maximum of 15x.
Payouts and Wagering Limits
Judging from the above paytable, based on coin wins, you can see that the high paying symbols have a great payout rate. Even the lower paying symbols aren’t too bad when it comes to cashing out. This is typical of a highly volatile slot, where even the main game wins pay out respectable amounts. The maximum win for this slot is 92,000 coins.
Sea Hunter has an RTP rate of 96.93%, which is fantastic. The one drawback we noticed about this slot is that it has a relatively low hit frequency on some of the better features, like Wild Warhead and Multiply Mortar.
The range of bet for Sea Hunter, given that it has 5 fixed paylines, is between $0.05-$100. This gives enough flexibility to cater for both casual players and highrollers.
Overall, Sea Hunter is a fun slot that’s great to blow off some steam on. The high volatility rate of this slot makes it especially exciting for highrollers who want more of a kick out of their gameplay. Although, to be honest, we did expect a little something more from the special features than what we got.
